This section is devoted to the Tampa community and the DPC Photography Instructors who lead these photo workshops are professional photographers who have lived in Tampa for at least 10 years, usually longer.
These pro photo shooters also have teaching experience and they love teaching. (Not all photographers do.) They know the local retailers where you can get the better deals on photo equipment and more importantly, they know where the best photo ops are which allows us to provide you with a rotation of interesting places to shoot, throughout the year, whether indoors or outdoors, winter, spring, summer of fall. Sometimes one time of day to shoot is better than another and our DPC instructors keep us informed.
Often, the DPC Instructors even have private access to various locales in the city where they live. Themes vary from street photography and dynamic architecture, to flowers and landscapes, as well as waterscapes, sunsets, lush scenery and everything in between.
During one month, you might be invited to rendezvous in the luxurious natural light streaming in to a religious venue via spectacular stained glass windows and the following month, it might be a small relatively unknown park with very special landscapes. It's based off of foot candles. 1 candle = 1 second; 30 candles of light which is in open shade all over the world would = 1/30 of a second. Now lets jump to the brightest white, mid day cloud light by the sun has 500 candles of light on it, which = 1/500 of a second shutter speed. Now what ever you set your ISO to, for instance ISO 100 you take the square root of 100 = 10. To shoot the cloud at ISO 100 and utilize the 1/500 of a second shutterspeed, your f/stop would be f/10. Same ISO in open shade your exposure would be 1/30 f/10, or 1/60 f/5, 1/125 f/2.5
