Photography is the art of replicating images of individuals, objects or locations in their precise likeness. These images can be moved on any photosensitive product. Photography consists of taking and printing images.
The backbone of photography is the cam, the instrument or device that works on the principle of optics. The cam and photographic methods have undergone phenomenal changes because the time the first video camera was made.
Then the scientists discovered the quality of silver nitrate that changes its color when exposed to light. This was the beginning of photogram, a method of making long-term images.
They would put items on the paper dipped in silver nitrate and expose it to the sunlight. After sometime the area covered under the item remained white while the remainder of the space turned black. The image formed was short-term, so the method did not last long.
Over the centuries, the principles, the technique and the product used in photography went through numerous modifications. After experimenting with different methods like Daguerre and calotype process, finally collodion, or the damp plate method was widely accepted.
Modern photography has actually provided a completely brand-new significance to the whole understanding of life and personal privacy. Photography has made it possible to record and maintain special moments, in private and in public life. History became more authentic with pictures, and photographs worked as proof in a lot of cases. CLASS DESCRIPTION
Composition in the Field – 3 hours – $99
Each Composition in the Field photography class begins with a talk with one of our experienced instructors, and then you and your fellow students take a stroll through one of a variety of photogenic locales (in any of the 20+ cities the DPC encapsulates). There is street photography, magnificent interiors, farmers markets, zoos, landscapes, and more, photos of which are included within. These photos are a mix of student and instructor images in many different venues and cities across the United States and Canada.
You will have fun in the three hour session, learn to shoot strategically, get more interesting photos of the event, and walk away with a foundation to improve your photographs in the future, whether you’re traveling, or at a birthday party and everywhere in between.
Please note – if a class must be cancelled due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control we will be happy to work with you to reschedule. If you should need to cancel and require a new class date, contact us. A $25 transfer fee will be imposed without a 3 day notice before the scheduled class.
