Welcome to the Tampa market for the international network of live and online photo classes, all under the banner of Digital Photography Classes.
This section is devoted to the Tampa community. The DPC Photography Instructors who lead these photo workshops are professional photographers who have lived in Tampa for at least 10 years, usually longer.
These pro photo shooters also have teaching experience and they love teaching. (Not all photographers do.) They know the local retailers where you can get the better deals on photo equipment and more importantly, they know where the best photo ops are which allows us to provide you with a rotation of interesting places to shoot, throughout the year, whether indoors or outdoors, winter, spring, summer of fall. Sometimes one time of day to shoot is better than another and our DPC instructors keep us informed.
Often, the DPC Instructors have private access to various locales in the city where they live. Themes vary from street photography and dynamic architecture to flowers and landscapes, waterscapes, sunsets, lush scenery, and everything in between.
During one month, you might be invited to rendezvous in the luxurious natural light streaming into a religious venue via spectacular stained glass windows, and the following month, it might be a small relatively unknown park with very special landscapes. This is why we offer a special ALUMNI Discount to people who attend more than one workshop.
Nationally, we organize these photography workshops to provide variety for the participants in each local market, but we could not do it without the expertise and connections provided by the DPC instructors in each of those markets.

Photography is the art of recreating pictures of individuals, items or locations in their exact likeness. These images can be transferred on any photosensitive material. Photography consists of taking and printing pictures.
The backbone of photography is the electronic camera, the instrument or device that works on the concept of optics. The video camera and photographic strategies have undergone phenomenal changes given that the time the very first video camera was made. The earlier design did not contain the movie; rather, it had a small light-shield box with lens and translucent screen on either side. The image that took a trip through the lens was kept on the screen. Known as 'electronic camera obscura,' it was no more than a sketching gadget for artists.
The scientists found the quality of silver nitrate that changes its color when exposed to light. This was the start of photogram, a technique of making permanent images.
They would place things on the paper dipped in silver nitrate and expose it to the sunshine. After at some point the area covered under the item stayed white while the remainder of the area turned black. However, the image formed was temporary, so the technique did not last long.
Over the centuries, the concepts, the technique and the material used in photography went through numerous modifications. After experimenting with different techniques like Daguerre and calotype procedure, finally collodion, or the damp plate technique was universally accepted.
